Upon your arrival, a dedicated staff member and EuroTour bus will be ready at the airport to welcome morning arrivals. For a seamless transition to your adventure, we've organized a group transfer set to depart at 11am. Once at the hotel, take the opportunity to refresh and change, and enjoy some welcoming snacks prepared just for you. Then, at 1:00pm, join us as we embark on an enthralling introduction to Holland, marking the perfect start to your journey with us.

Without revealing all the surprises we have in store, let's just say you'll unmistakably feel the essence of Holland upon reaching our carefully chosen destination. Immerse yourself in a leisurely afternoon surrounded by iconic Dutch landscapes—think historic windmills and charming green wooden houses that seem lifted from a storybook.

Day 2

Day 2: Masterclass in Motion

Today is a highlight for our athletes! Dedicate this special week to honing your skills with all-day training led by elite FIH coaches. Prepare to be challenged, inspired, and transformed on the field. Mom, dad... this is your vacation too, so enjoy all that our spa hotel and Holland has to offer.

Details for Day 2 Here

ARE YOU READY? We use words like unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime, and priceless to describe what this week of training holds—and you'll understand why the moment you step on the field.

Day 2 dawns with anticipation—today is a highlight for our athletes! Kickstart your morning with a hearty breakfast that will fuel your day's adventures. Afterward, we'll embark on a refreshing short walk to pick up your bikes, setting the stage for a picturesque ride. Our journey takes us through the serene Amsterdam Forest, pedaling our way to the club and training pitch where you'll meet our esteemed Dutch coaches.

Today's session promises to be an outstanding hockey experience. Prepare to be inspired as you learn new skills and techniques in a way that only the Dutch can offer—making hockey not just a sport but a fun-filled adventure.

For our adult members, the adventure begins in earnest once we've seen the athletes off to their training. We'll guide you to the bike center, where you'll be outfitted with your bike for the week. This isn't just any bike—it's your passport to freedom, allowing you to glide effortlessly to the pitch to cheer on your daughter or venture into the heart of the city for some exploration. The choice is yours, and the possibilities are endless. It's your vacation, after all!

Once you're comfortable with your bikes, the adults—or "fans," as we affectionately call you—will hop on a bus into the city center for an orientation tour. We'll begin with a leisurely walk starting from the Anne Frank House, continuing to Dam Square, strolling through the charming boutiques and shops of the Nine Streets area, and then exploring the vibrant Floating Flower Market. We'll conclude our journey at the beautiful outer canal ring near Leidseplein, returning to the hotel before your daughters finish their training session.

From then on and throughout the week, the freedom to explore is entirely in your hands—whether you prefer to cycle, take the bus, or hail an Uber, you choose your mode of transportation.

This evening, if the weather is on our side, we will all embark on a scenic bike ride to a traditional farmhouse. There, we'll enjoy a special dinner; authentic Dutch pancakes—a perfect ending to a wonderful day.

BIKING TIP
Biking into the city is a breeze, thanks to mostly flat bike paths leading the way. A brief stint on the road brings you to Vondel Park, where you can enjoy a ride through the park right to the city's edge. Once there, it's wise to lock up your bike and continue on foot.
AMSTERDAM ON FOOT
Experiencing Amsterdam is truly best on foot. Its easy-to-navigate layout, guided by the distinctive horseshoe-shaped canal system, makes exploring and orienting yourself a simple pleasure.
Day 3

Day 3: Where Talent Meets Transformation

Brace yourself for another day on the field that promises to challenge, inspire, and transform you in a new way. Continue your immersion in excellence with your second day of FIH Dutch training. Today's intensive session is designed as the perfect 'warm-up,' setting the stage for you to internalize and own your new skills.

Details for Day 3 Here

Today is when you begin to internalize and master the game.

We begin with an energizing breakfast, setting the stage for a refreshing bike ride to the club. Brace yourself for a day on the field that promises to challenge, inspire, and transform you in a new way.

Parents, the day is yours to shape as you wish. Feel free to visit the pitch and watch the action, take this opportunity to explore Amsterdam, or even do a bit of both. The choice is entirely yours.

This evening is yours to enjoy as you please, with dinner being an open choice. Whether you prefer the convenience of dining at the hotel, exploring the local eateries nearby, or venturing into the city for a culinary adventure, the decision is yours to make.

PRO TIP
With the sun setting just before 10pm, you're afforded ample daylight to extend your day and fully immerse in the visual splendor of this city. And as dusk falls, the transition is seamless into a magical atmosphere, where the lights come alive, casting a luminous glow over the streets and canals, inviting you to experience the enchantment of the evening.

Want to eat like a Dutchie? Then try either croquettes or bitterballen. Don't ask what's in them. When they're hot, really hot, just get some mustard and smear it all in on white bread! Mmmm.

During your stay, try to get to Winkel 43. It's near the Anne Frank House. Known for its apple cake (Kruimelkoek), this lively cafe/bar (small) serves hearty European snacks, lunch and dinner too. But we go for the apple cake and coffee. Double Mmmmm! Winkel 43 LINK

The Ultimate Parent-Daughter Road Trip

One minute you're packing the car for a tournament, the next you're wondering where the years went. The early mornings, the road trips, the sidelines—they blur together—suddenly, it's the final season, the last game, and you realize this chapter is over. But a new one, with a stronger bond, can now begin.

This is a shared hockey adventure, where you'll create unforgettable moments with your daughter you'll both treasure forever.

Value. Why This Trip Matters?

I designed this program based on 35 years of professional hockey and travel experience in the Netherlands—and I can't wait to share it with you.

I understand that value means something different to every family. But when I built this experience, I kept three core priorities at the heart of it—what I believe truly matters on a trip like this:

1. World-Class Skill Development
There's a reason both the Dutch men's and women's national teams have stood atop the Olympic podium. Their love of the game is contagious—but what truly sets them apart is their coaching philosophy: detailed, precise, and deeply insightful. A simple adjustment to your grip or body positioning can completely change your game—and how a college coach sees you. That's the level we're working at. It's not just training—it's transformation.

2. A Parent-Child Adventure to Remember
I've been to just about every tournament and program you can name—Festival, Disney, RCC/NCC, Nexus—with both of my daughters. Most of them felt like something we had to do. They were packed with pressure, competition, and stress—and not a whole lot of joy.

This trip is different. Amsterdam flips the script. It's a sports vacation designed to reignite your love for the game and your connection as a family. You'll share training, meals, laughter, exploration—and walk away with stories and moments that stick. I can honestly say: you'll feel it from the first day.

3. Culture, Confidence, and Perspective
Traveling to Holland is more than a change of scenery—it's a change in perspective. For many athletes, it's their first time abroad, and that alone is transformative. From navigating new territory by bike to trying new foods or simply being part of daily life in another country, these moments build confidence, independence, and curiosity. They shape who we are—on and off the field. It's an experience your family will talk about for years.

Value isn't just about the price tag. It ultimately comes down to prioritizing what matters most. For me, that priority was helping my two girls get into the best academic programs possible, which led them to Yale and Richmond. This program follows my approach.

If the three values we've outlined resonate with you, then joining us should be an easy decision. If you connect with two or just one, that's perfectly okay too; it simply means you must weigh which set of values is worth this investment.

Bob Whitcher, Founder, Sport EuroTour

Family Shared Experience!

Okay, we get it. There's nothing better than watching your child play hockey. I've been there.

But being part of that experience, and creating new, shared experiences, is something truly unique.

Some of my most cherished memories are from traveling with my two daughters as they played hockey in Holland. Those moments I'll hold onto forever. And they still talk about it fondly too.

Have you looked over our itinerary? You should. Here are just a few of the shared experiences outside of hockey you'll have that will make this trip extremely special for you, too:

Visiting Working Windmills: On our first day you'll step into the heart of Dutch culture as you explore centuries-old windmills that are still in operation. You'll see firsthand how these iconic structures have shaped the country's history and watch traditional techniques in action.

Discovering the Art of Wooden Shoe Making: We'll visit a local workshop where craftsmen keep the art of clog-making alive. It's fascinating to see how a simple block of wood transforms into one of the Netherlands' most recognizable symbols.

Wandering through Amsterdam's Parks: On day one, we'll take you on a leisurely stroll through the sprawling park that frames this vibrant city. Vondelpark is a favorite for Dutch singles, couples and families soaking in the beauty of the surroundings. Awesome people watching.

Exploring Utrecht's Historic Charm: On our day of sightseeing we visit the city of Utrecht. Known for its medieval architecture and winding canals, Utrecht offers a cozy yet vibrant atmosphere. Walk freely down its picturesque pedestrian streets, discovering hidden cafes and boutiques, or enjoy a meal in a canal-side restaurant.

Experiencing the Lively Nightlife: After a day of games and training, head out together for a memorable evening. Whether it's a family dinner at a bustling restaurant, sampling local street food, or taking in the lively city energy, there's something magical about Holland's evening vibe.

Seeing the Canals Come Alive at Night: As the sun sets, the city transforms. The canals, illuminated by soft, glowing lights, create a dreamy backdrop for an evening boat ride or a leisurely walk along the water's edge. This is when you should visit the city and take advantage of the late sunsets here in July.

Indulging in Dutch Pancakes: On day two, we'll take you to a farmhouse that specializes in authentic Dutch pancakes. Thick, fluffy, and served with a variety of toppings—from sweet powdered sugar to savory bacon and cheese—Dutch pancakes are a must-try.

Riding Bikes Together: Join the locals in one of the Netherlands' most beloved pastimes. Bike to grab a late-night snack of ice cream or crispy French fries, or simply pedal through town, taking in the sights and sounds. It's a fun way to experience the city together, just like real Dutchies.

These shared experiences aren't just about sightseeing—they're about bonding, creating memories, and having those special moments together that will last long after the trip is over.

So yes, you'll watch your daughter play, she'll get better, make friends and network with our coaches. But you'll also share an adventure that's as much yours as it is hers. And you'll call it "Ours"!

Bob Whitcher, Founder, Sport EuroTour

What Will Parents Do?

Plenty.

We know there's nothing better than watching your child play—and trust me, you'll get to see every moment in this special setting, if that's what you want.

But we also believe this is your time too.

With up to 8 hours of free time during each training day, you can turn this trip into a vacation of your own.

You'll have plenty of opportunities to relax and recharge. Enjoy the hotel's spa, explore the local city, or take a scenic tour through the countryside. It's all about creating an experience that works for YOU!

Our hotel is specifically designed for relaxation—quiet, comfortable, and even a bit luxurious, with soothing spa treatments and sport courts to keep you active if you choose.

And then there's the food. The cuisine in Holland is nothing short of amazing, offering every flavor you can imagine. Start your day with a near-perfect hotel breakfast and fresh coffee, setting the tone for your own adventure.

Ready to explore? The city center is just a short ride away, and in true Dutch style, you can get there on two wheels. We've got a bike waiting for you, or if you prefer, take an Uber. With flat, scenic paths, cycling through town is an experience in itself.

Stroll through the boutique shops on 9-streets, wander the vibrant flower market, or lose yourself in the art at the Rijksmuseum. And for dad too, like the Heineken Tour or PGC Hajenius' art deco cigar room. Feel like going further? Venture out to the picturesque countryside towns like Delft or Marken and Volendam for an unforgettable day trip.

The point is, this is your time too—so make it yours and enjoy every moment. You know your daughter will be doing the same, building memories, honing her skills, and forming connections with new friends and coaches. It's a win-win experience for the whole family.

Guardian Required All Athletes Must Travel With an Adult

Parent or Guardian Is Required to Travel

Think this trip is just for your daughter? Think again. With luxury hotel amenities, a full-service spa, and time built in for you to relax and explore, this experience is designed just as much for you as it is for your athlete.

Each athlete is required to travel with at least one parent or an appointed guardian. This guardian must be over the age of 21 and can be a family friend who has agreed to chaperone. While it is not mandatory for a parent to accompany the athlete, the guardian must be explicitly designated by the parent or legal guardian to assume responsibility for the athlete during the trip. Typically this is when a parent or family is supervising a friend of their daughter.

Limited Capacity: 40-45 Athletes Only

To provide an exceptionally intimate experience for athletes and families alike, we will limit participation to only 40-45 athletes. Depending on room availability we hope to open this up to a fairly large family contingent. However, note that each athlete attending must have a family member or designated guardian joining them for the duration of the program. Again, ALL athletes must travel with a parent or guardian.

3 Traveling: Mom, Dad and Athlete (Siblings Too)

Let's see if we can room the athlete with another member in a similar situation. That way mom and dad can room together – the athlete has a roommate and family saves paying for a single supplement. Win-Win!

Eligibility

ATHLETES: Open to any and all female field hockey athletes who graduate high school in 2028 through 2030. We recommend that interested athletes are serious about their intention to play hockey in college.

ADULTS | PRIMARY GUARDIAN: Any adult over 21 designated as the primary guardian for a registered athlete during the tour week. The adult designated as the primary guardian should consider appropriate rooming arrangements with their athlete, such as female with female, etc. Sport EuroTour reserves the right to approve, accept, or deny all rooming arrangements.

FAMILY: Spouses and partners are welcome to join. They would share a superior room with a single bed alongside the primary guardian, while we'll make every effort to assign the athlete a bed & room with another member athlete in a similar situation. Triple rooms or rooms with roll-away beds are not available at this hotel.

Additional family members, such as siblings, aunts, uncles, and close friends, are also welcome. However, the availability of rooms and their bed configurations may limit the number of participants in any one party. Sport EuroTour reserves the right to approve, accept, or deny any additional family members based on available accommodations.

Our priority for room and bed allotment is given to athletes, their primary guardians, and the guardians' spouses or partners.

Rooming Athletes, Mom & Family Arrangement
Superior room

Parent & Child: Most of our bookings involve a parent (typically the mother) and daughter traveling together. They will always be placed in a room with two beds unless otherwise prearranged and specified.

We strive to finalize rooming arrangements at the time of registration. However, should adjustments be necessary, we will collaborate with you post-registration to ensure satisfaction. As an example: if both parents intend to travel with their daughter, the parents will be assigned a superior room together with one bed and the athlete will be assigned a double room, with another member athlete in a similar position. For parents traveling with their athlete, we will endeavor to pair your athlete with another in a similar situation for room sharing.

Couples Accommodation: Parents & Partners will be placed in a Superior room featuring a full-size bed. Superior Room bed width: 180cm / 70.86 inches / 5'11" wide. That's almost 11 inches wider than a queen – 5.25 inches less than a King.

Single Rooms: Availability of single rooms is limited due to the boutique size and nature of the hotel, which ultimately restricts the number of single rooms available. There is a single room supplement.

Rooming Policy: Per the hotel, there are no triples or three-to-a-room options available.

Pricing Policy: All prices are based on two to a room – double occupancy.

Again, the hotel is small, with limited capacity. Some of our rooms are Standard two-bedded and some Superior with only one large 2-person bed. Rooms will be assigned by first to book, room/bed availability. However, within this hierarchy, 2-bedded room priority will be given to: Guardian & Athlete sharing a room. Parents/couples traveling together as chaperones will be automatically assigned a Superior room with one double bed. If a parent or guardian ends up in a room on their own, by themselves, because of the number of athletes they are chaperoning or family members they are traveling with, they will need to purchase the single supplement. As previously stated, these single rooms are in limited supply.

If two-bedded rooms are unavailable as outlined above, we will discuss alternatives with you. If for any reason you are not satisfied with the bed configuration, we will offer a full refund at the time of booking or within the registration grace period. Please understand we are limited in our options and flexibility.

Bikes & Biking We Ride Like Dutchies
Bikes for everyone

Bikes for Everyone – Just Like the Dutch

In Amsterdam, biking isn't just transportation—it's a way of life. With flat terrain and bike paths everywhere, most Dutch people get around by bike… and so do we!

All athletes and family members will have their own bike for the week. Athletes will ride from the hotel to our training facility—just 1.5 miles each way along a safe, flat path through a park (no cars!).

Family members can use their bikes to visit the pitch, explore the city, and join us for a fun group ride to dinner at the famous Pancake House—about 2 miles away, again on flat bike paths.

If biking isn't for you, that's totally okay! But it will make things a little harder and maybe more expensive. You'll have to walk the 1.5 miles to training or hop in an Uber. Biking isn't mandatory, but it's definitely the best way to experience the local culture—and it's part of the fun of our program.

Note too, we'll also use our private bus when it makes sense: on Day 1 for sightseeing, Day 2 for a city orientation visit for our "fans" (while athletes are at their first day of training), and on our family exploration day to Utrecht.

How to Apply Separate Bookings For Athletes & Family

Booking Instructions

Registering: To register, visit our WeTravel platform. When you click through to register or view tour details there, you will be asked to create an account. Initially, only your name and email are required to create a login.

Athlete Registration: Please register your athlete before adding your guardian and/or other party members. This ensures smooth processing of your registration and finalizes the athlete's confirmation.

Multiple Athletes: You may register two athletes simultaneously, but payment will be made from a single account. For friends traveling together under one guardian, it's advisable to register them separately when the friend is paying their own way.

Parent/Guardian Booking: It is crucial to book the traveling chaperone or guardian immediately after registering the athlete, as this is essential for confirming the athlete's registration.

Booking Family Members: We recommend booking all accompanying family members at the same time as the primary guardian registration. This is due to limited room availability. Please note that at minimum, all reservations must be secured with a deposit, and space cannot be held without one.

Registration links: Athletes register using a separate link from parents and family members. These booking links can be found at the bottom of the specific tour page.

Save the CC Service Fee: Pay by "US Checking Account" (ACH). At the end of the registration process you will be brought to payment and payment method. There you can select "US Checking Account". This form of payment will negate the 2.99% service fee you will be charged when using a credit card.

Waivers & Additional Info: In addition to signed waivers, a questionnaire specific to the tour will be sent to you at a later date, after registration. This is required and will help us provide for a great experience for one and all.

Cancellation Policy Fair and Equitable

First and foremost, we recommend cancellation insurance. It can provide full refunds for all travel expenses if an issue arises prior to departure. Once we secure your position on tour, we then lock your spot with our hotel and Dutch coach sessions. This requires non-refundable payments we will need to pay in your absence. Therefore, we have established the following cancellation policy to be fair and transparent to all parties involved:

Cancellation Grace Period

We want to ensure you're confident in your decision. If you register before March 15, 2027, you have a 3-day (72 hour) grace period during which you can rescind your registration for any reason and receive a full refund from Sport EuroTour. Should you cancel after this 3-day period, cancellation fees will then apply.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be received in writing via email to info@sporteurotour.com. The date on which the email is received will be used to determine the applicable cancellation date and charges.

Cancellation Deadlines & Charges – If you cancel:

  • Prior to 120 days before departure: We will retain the deposit only.
  • 119 to 60 days before departure: 30% of the total program cost will be charged.
  • 59 to 45 days before departure: 50% of the total program cost will be charged.
  • 44 to 31 days before departure: 75% of the total program cost will be charged.
  • 30 days or less before departure: 100% of the total program cost will be charged.

A $295 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your place. 72 hour grace period applies.

Cancellation by EuroTour: In the rare event that we must cancel a tour due to circumstances beyond our control (Force Majeure, e.g., natural disasters, political instability), we will offer a full refund of all monies paid to us by the members, less your required deposit.

Our cancellation policy and fees apply regardless of the reason for cancellation. Itinerary changes or specific coaching changes on the tour are not eligible for refunds. The cancellation policy and associated fees apply to all participants, whether registered as a parent, athlete, coach, fan, family member, friend, team, or any other designation. Refunds will be processed strictly according to the refund policy, regardless of the reason for cancellation.

Modifications: If you need to change your booking (e.g., changing dates or participants), we will do our best to accommodate your needs. However, changes are subject to availability and may incur additional costs.

This cancellation policy is for each registered person joining the program. Please note that this cancellation policy is part of our terms and conditions. By booking a tour with us, you agree to these terms. We understand that plans can change, and we strive to be as flexible as possible. If you have any questions or need to discuss your situation, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Note: When issues occur, we've seen travel insurance help defray costs and cover travel expenses.

Insurance Highly Suggested For Athletes

Travel Insurance

As we cannot offer refunds beyond the terms stated above, we strongly recommend that you purchase comprehensive travel insurance at the time of booking. Your insurance should cover all travel expenses, including cancellation due to illness, injury, or other unforeseen circumstances.

Straight Answers

Quick Answers for Parents

Does my daughter need to be an elite player?

No. The tour is open to any female field hockey athlete graduating high school in 2028 through 2030. Training groups are 10 or fewer, so our Dutch coaches meet every athlete at her level. We do recommend she's serious about playing in college, has the skills to grow under this level of coaching, and the stamina to bring those skills to a full week of intense training.

Can my daughter travel without a parent?

Every athlete must travel with a parent or an appointed guardian over 21. The guardian can be a family friend, typically another parent traveling with a friend of their daughter, designated by you to be responsible for her during the trip.

Are dads and siblings welcome?

Yes. Spouses, partners, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and close friends are all welcome. Room availability at our boutique hotel is the only limit, so book family members early.

What does the tour cost and what's included?

Athletes are $2995 and family members $1995, based on two to a room. That covers 6 nights at a 4-star spa hotel, 4 full days of FIH-educator training, most meals, bike rentals for the week, two sightseeing days, and the Day 1 airport shuttle. Airfare is not included.

Is there a payment plan?

Yes. A $295 deposit holds your spot, then three payments spread across December 2026, March 2027, and May 2027. There's also a 72-hour grace period after registration for a full refund.

Where do we stay?

Hotel & Wellness Spa Zuiver, a 4-star wellness hotel in the Amsterdamse Bos on the edge of Amsterdam, right next to our training club and pitch. Over 140,000 square feet of spa and luxury facilities.

Who runs the training?

SportWays, Holland's internationally recognized hockey program founded by Thomas Tichelman. We train at their home club in Amsterdam with exclusive access to their top coaches, all FIH educators.

What do parents do while the athletes train?

Whatever you want. You'll have up to 8 hours of free time on training days: the hotel spa, biking into Amsterdam, the Rijksmuseum, the 9 Streets shops, or day trips to Delft or Volendam. This trip is built for you too.

Do we have to bike?

No, but it's the best part. Everyone gets a bike for the week, and the ride to training is 1.5 flat miles through a car-free park. Prefer not to ride? Walk or take an Uber.

How many athletes attend?

The tour is capped at 40 to 45 athletes to keep training groups small and the experience personal. Popular spots fill first, and rooms are assigned in booking order.
